I am sure the police have already seen this but where the trail goes from your house is rather obvious, who lives up the street from you two or three houses? The trail leads right to those two, is that how you caught him?
My answer: He has not been caught – he is still in our valley, and yes, I know the trail is obvious.
The satellite maps have been updated after all evidence was mowed away. A satellite image from the original blog is here, http://morganingram.com/wordpress/?p=744 and you can clearly see the trail worn into the grass. On the one night it snowed and trails were left in the snow, the house they led back to was only all the more obvious. Our intrepid sheriff’s department lost the original map that Steve had traced out for the deputy as they walked alongside the footprints that morning, the deputy also made no report of the incident and there was no follow up. The detective did include a copy of the footprints in the snow map in the incredibly incomplete sheriffs reports. Here is a copy of that – The original has James and Brooke in the house at the end of the footprint trial but the sheriffs redacted her name in the reports.

Could this person have been a seasonal employee at the equestrian area? Then again, it was December. But I keep thinking of employees who help with the horses. I’m sure you’ve thought of that, but just in case . . .
The Sheriffs said they did look into just that in the beginning and then their focus changed. Not really sure if they interviewed the people that were in the rental units. I had our horse at that ranch, and I did know the Manager Pat, as well as her daughter Sidney – they were really good people. Morgan never felt strange going down to the ranch to be with our horse, and yet you bring up a good point as it was right there behind our house and very accessible.

No, Pat never told me that, and I am in shock! Sidney and Pat knew about the stalker. They never really brought the subject up with me, but when I saw them I told them what was happening at the time.
I wish I knew if the Garfield County Sheriff’s office even knew about that little fact, and if they investigated that. They told me they were looking in to the ranch right in the beginning.
Also, the answer to your first question…we were the 5th house on the right on Corral Drive, and it looks like in the satellite photo on google earth, that the backyard of the 3rd house on the right had something written in the grass – like it was done with the mower maybe, and I have no idea what that was all about.
I don’t mean to send you down a shadow trail, but what if that really does have something to do with it? Like some sort of way he’s taunting you still… knowing, from looking at this website, that you use Google Earth or Google Maps to view your yard?
Also, is the trail you’re talking about the half-circle just before your house from the bottom up?
To me it looks as though the trail goes to the very next house. So the 6th house on the right, is that the neighbors house whose lawn furniture was messed up a few times?
No, up close and personal the trail went two places. The most worn was the trail going up the street further on the top of the berm and then cutting down between the 7th and 8th houses on the right. The detective spotted a can of cigarette butts in front of the eighth house and theorized he could imagine them smoking and then “stopping by”. The second and far less worn trail went the opposite direction to a truck trailer parked at the ranch behind the berm. Two lightly worn tracks from a vehicle can be seen alongside that trailer.
The message in the grass appears to me to say “putu” not “mind”. Probably unrelated but curious nontheless. I had to google urban dictionary to find out what putu means. :/

We wondered the same thing when we saw it and other readers told us what it said…the people renting that house were really nice people and I have no idea how that was mowed into the grass…really weird.

What meanings did you find for ‘putu’ cos I found a film called ‘on the path’ 2010, originally called ‘na putu’ Bit strange that the word ‘path’ would be mowed into someone’s grass.

Could be, I’ve never asked but Steve and I met them many times and they were great people, and a good sense of humor. Steve thinks it was directed at the cameras in the sky. On the way to Aspen an individual painted a hand gesture on the roof of his barn for all on the highway to see. And it became quite famous.
The “MIND” suggestion got me thinking… could it be an acronym? the MI could stand for “Morgan Ingram”. Could the ND be something meaningful?

Chris – I would give anything for that to be true! But Morgan was murdered, and is no longer with the ones that love her. She was horrifically stalked, and her life ended in a heinous murder. And what does this portray for other victims of stalking if Morgan’s stalking and murder can now be covered-up and a murderer is allowed to run free?
